About Resize Image
Change the size of your images in seconds. Enter a new width and height in pixels or scale by a percentage, and keep the aspect ratio so nothing looks stretched. It's perfect for profile pictures, online forms with size limits, website images and email attachments. Resize up to 20 images at once.
Resize by pixels or by percentage
- Pixels: type the width you need, for example 1080, and leave height empty. With Keep aspect ratio on, the height is worked out for you so the picture never looks stretched.
- Percentage: shrink every image by the same amount. 50% halves the width and height, which makes the file roughly four times smaller.
- Exact size: turn off Keep aspect ratio and enter both width and height only when a form demands an exact size. If the shape does not match, the picture will be squeezed; crop it first with Crop Image to avoid that.

Good to know
- Making images smaller keeps them sharp. Making a small image bigger cannot add detail, so enlarged pictures look soft. For gentle enlargement use Image Enlarger.
- Resize many images at once: add up to 20 files and they all get the same size or percentage.
- Still too big in kilobytes? Run the result through Image Compressor.
Frequently asked questions
How do I avoid stretching my image?
Keep "Keep aspect ratio" ticked. The image is resized to fit within your width and height without distortion.
Does resizing reduce file size?
Making an image smaller in pixels usually makes the file much smaller too. For even smaller files, also use our Image Compressor.
Can I make an image bigger?
Yes, but enlarging can look soft. Our Image Enlarger adds sharpening for better results.
Will resizing change my image format?
No. A JPG stays a JPG and a PNG stays a PNG. To change the format as well, use the Image Converter.
How do I resize a photo for a form that asks for a maximum size in KB?
Resize the width to about 800 to 1200 pixels first, then use the Image Compressor at quality 60 to 70. That brings most photos well under 200 KB.
